The Philippine Association of Academic/Research Librarians, Inc. (PAARL) will hold the 2023 PAARLNet Convention with the theme Resource Sharing in Library Networking: Current Issues and Future Prospects on 01 December 2023 (Friday). The on-site venue for the event will be held at the Library Conference Hall of the Miguel de Benavidez Library, University of Santo Tomas, España, Manila. An option to join the event on-line is available through Zoom.
Confirmed speakers are Dr. Benhur A. Asid (Western Mindanao State University), Ms. Maxie Doreen Leva Cabarron (University of San Carlos), Ms. Ana Maria B. Fresnido (De La Salle University Manila), Mr. Lauren P. Kipaan (Benguet State University), Ms. Analiza G. Linaugo (University of the Philippines Miag-ao), and Dr. Briccio M. Merced, Jr. (University of the Philippines Mindanao).
The PAARLNet General Assembly will be held in the morning followed by a seminar after. The objectives are:
- To know the value of resource sharing in library networking
- To present current issues in library networking
- To determine future prospects in library networking acquisitions
- To present the PAARL 10-year development plan
Lastly, through library partners, some prospects in library network sharing shall be presented.
