(PAARL) is happy to announce its call for research papers for the 2023 PAARL Research Journal. The theme for this issue is <strong>RESEARCH DATA MANAGEMENT (RDM)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"gtfy-7\">This thematic issue aims to gather articles, studies, practices, commentaries, and other related papers about the theory and practice of RDM in the Philippines or by Philippine LIS Professionals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full gtfy-10\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"940\" height=\"788\" src=\"https:\/\/paarl.org.ph\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/3-1.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-908\" srcset=\"https:\/\/paarl.org.ph\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/3-1.png 940w, https:\/\/paarl.org.ph\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/3-1-300x251.png 300w, https:\/\/paarl.org.ph\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/3-1-768x644.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 940px) 100vw, 940px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"gtfy-13\"><strong>TOPICS OF INTEREST<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"gtfy-16\">Research papers to be submitted must be in line with the theme and should fall under one or more of the following subject areas:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list gtfy-28\">\n<li class=\"gtfy-19 gutenify-list-item\">Data Publication and Sharing (i.e., metadata standards, interrelated to databases and data policies, research data facilitators, library activities\/involvement, delivering guidance, tools, and services)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"gtfy-20 gutenify-list-item\">Data Reproducibility<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"gtfy-21 gutenify-list-item\">Research Data Repositories (e.g., research communities, repository providers)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"gtfy-22 gutenify-list-item\">Data Management (e.g., Access and Use, Archiving and Preservation)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"gtfy-23 gutenify-list-item\">Data Organization and Storage<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"gtfy-24 gutenify-list-item\">Data Publication and sharing<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"gtfy-25 gutenify-list-item\">RDM Ethics<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"gtfy-26 gutenify-list-item\">Quality Assurance<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"gtfy-27 gutenify-list-item\">Data Services<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"gtfy-31\"><strong>SUBMISSION GUIDELINES<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list gtfy-39\">\n<li class=\"gtfy-34 gutenify-list-item\">The full paper, with a maximum of 10,000 words, must be written in English and submitted as a MS Word document (*.doc or *.docx).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"gtfy-35 gutenify-list-item\">The full paper should include, at the minimum, the following contents (see also attached template):<br>a. Purpose\/objectives of the paper<br>b. Significance of the study<br>c. Design, methodology, approach<br>d. Findings<br>e. Research limitations and implication\/s, if applicable<br>f. Statement of originality of the paper<br>g. 3-5 keywords<br>h. About the author(s), including name(s) of author(s), position or title of author(s), affiliation of author(s), email address, telephone, short biographical note (not exceeding 200 words).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"gtfy-36 gutenify-list-item\">The full paper must be formatted as follows (see also attached template):<br>a. Default font (Main body): 12pt, Times New Roman<br>b. Default line spacing: single-spaced<br>c. Paper title: 14pt (Bold Upper and Lower Case)<br>d. Author\u2019s name, affiliation, abstract, keywords: 12pt (Bold Upper and Lower Case)<br>e. Page size: Letter-size 8.5\u201dx11\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"gtfy-37 gutenify-list-item\">The full paper must be submitted with the subject \u201c[Paper Submission] 2023 PAARL RESEARCH JOURNAL\u201d to paarlbod@gmail.com on or before 30 October 2023. Contributions will be double-blind peer reviewed. Authors of accepted papers must complete the PAARL Authors\u2019 Permission Form (to be given later).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"gtfy-38 gutenify-list-item\">Submissions will be evaluated using the following criteria:<br>a. Relevance to the practice of Philippine Academic Librarianship<br>b. Significance of the research topic\/problem<br>c. Originality<br>d. Quality, soundness, credibility of the theoretical\/conceptual framework\/ and or research paradigm<br>e. Quality of findings and recommendations<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"gtfy-42\">See image below for sample\/template of the paper.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"gtfy-45\">Interested authors should take note of the following important dates:<br>\u2022 Submission of full paper: <s>30 October 2023<\/s> 17 November 2023 (Friday)<br>\u2022 Notification of acceptance: 15 December 2023 (Friday)<br>\u2022 Final submission of revised papers: 31 January 2024 (Wednesday)<br>Accepted papers may also be considered for the 2023 PAARL Best Research Awards.
