(PAARL) is pleased to announce its upcoming <strong>Virtual Research Colloquium<\/strong>, scheduled on <strong>23 October 2026<\/strong>, with the theme: <em><strong>The Research L.E.N.S.: Libraries Empowering New Scholarship<\/strong><\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"gtfy-4 wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>GUIDELINES FOR THE CALL FOR PAPERS<\/strong><br>PAARL invites Library and Information Science (LIS) professionals, educators, students, researchers, and other information professionals to submit original research papers for presentation at the <strong>2026 PAARL Research Colloquium<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"gtfy-7 wp-block-paragraph\">Authors of accepted papers will be invited to present their research during the colloquium. Submitted papers will undergo double-blind peer review by the PAARL Research Journal Editorial Board and may be considered for publication in the <strong>PAARL Research Journal (PRJ)<\/strong>, subject to the journal&#8217;s editorial and publication requirements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"gtfy-10 wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Submission Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list gtfy-18\">\n<li class=\"gtfy-13 gutenify-list-item\">The full paper must be written in English.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"gtfy-14 gutenify-list-item\">The submission must present original research and should not have been previously published or simultaneously submitted for publication elsewhere.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"gtfy-15 gutenify-list-item\">Authors must use the prescribed template (Word document). The <a href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/drive\/folders\/1diMEya7IeTNKGXz3OQWAVRqlSpUvNOjL\">template link<\/a> is provided here.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"gtfy-16 gutenify-list-item\">Each author may serve as the primary author of only one (1) submitted full paper.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"gtfy-17 gutenify-list-item\">Authors may serve as co-authors on additional submissions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"gtfy-21 wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Peer Review<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list gtfy-29\">\n<li class=\"gtfy-24 gutenify-list-item\">All submitted papers will undergo double-blind peer review by the PAARL Research Journal Editorial Board.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"gtfy-25 gutenify-list-item\">Papers will be evaluated based on relevance to the colloquium theme, originality, research rigor, clarity, significance of findings, and contribution to the LIS profession and research community.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"gtfy-26 gutenify-list-item\">Authors will be notified of the results of the review.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"gtfy-27 gutenify-list-item\">Authors may be requested to revise their papers based on the reviewers&#8217; comments.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"gtfy-28 gutenify-list-item\">Acceptance for presentation at the colloquium does not automatically guarantee publication in the PAARL Research Journal. Publication will be subject to the journal&#8217;s editorial policies, peer-review requirements, and final editorial decision.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"gtfy-32 wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Originality and Ethical Considerations<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list gtfy-41\">\n<li class=\"gtfy-35 gutenify-list-item\">Authors are responsible for ensuring that their submissions:<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"gtfy-36 gutenify-list-item\">Are original works of the authors;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"gtfy-37 gutenify-list-item\">Properly acknowledge and cite all sources;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"gtfy-38 gutenify-list-item\">Comply with applicable research ethics and data privacy requirements;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"gtfy-39 gutenify-list-item\">Have secured the necessary permissions or clearances when applicable; and<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"gtfy-40 gutenify-list-item\">Do not contain plagiarized or previously published material.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"gtfy-44 wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS<\/strong><br>Submit the full paper via email using the following details:<br>Email: <a href=\"mailto:paarl.resjournal@gmail.com\"><em>paarl.resjournal@gmail.com<\/em><\/a><br>Subject Line: <strong>[PAPER SUBMISSION] 2026 PAARL Research Colloquium<\/strong><br>Full Paper Submission Deadline: <strong>2 October 2026<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"gtfy-47 wp-block-paragraph\">*<em>Authors are encouraged to submit their papers ahead of the deadline to allow sufficient time for processing and review.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"gtfy-50 wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>PRESENTATION GUIDELINES<\/strong><br>Accepted papers must be presented during the 2026 PAARL Research Colloquium on 23 October 2026 via Zoom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"gtfy-53 wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><em>Each accepted paper will be allocated:<\/em><\/strong><br>20 minutes \u2013 Research Presentation<br>10 minutes \u2013 Question-and-Answer \/ Panel Discussion<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"gtfy-56 wp-block-paragraph\">Presenters are expected to observe the allotted presentation time and focus on the most significant aspects of their research, including the research problem, objectives, methodology, key findings, and conclusions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"gtfy-59 wp-block-paragraph\"><em>*Detailed presentation guidelines and the presentation schedule will be provided to accepted authors.<\/em><br><br><strong>RESEARCH THEMES AND SCOPE<\/strong><br>Submissions should contribute to the broad theme of Impact, Productivity, and Visibility in Library and Information Services.
