Collection Analysis and Evaluation: Fundamentals of Collection-centered Assessment Techniques

PAARL invites you to its  2ndMarina G. Dayrit Lecture Series with the theme Collection Analysis and Evaluation: Fundamentals of Collection-Centered Assessment Techniques on March 11, 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Ateneo de Manila University, Loyola Heights, Quezon City.

As academic libraries face budget cuts during these lean years, the need to make careful decisions in acquiring library materials is crucial. To help librarians understand and meet the needs of the users while assuring administrators that the institutions resources is put into good use, a systematic evaluation of the library’s collection  is necessary. These lectures aim to aid librarians in their conduct of collection assessment. Specifically, these intend to:

·         familiarize participants with the different client-centered collection assessment techniques;

·         develop in the participants a framework of identifying useful data for collection assessment; and

·         guide participants in the preparation of collection assessment studies/reports.

Registration starts at 12:00 noon. Members will be assessed a registration fee of Php300 and Php350 for non-members. Students may avail of a discounted rate of Php200.
